"I don't really know what to say… what goes into my
brain in order for my work to come out? The simplest means of
describing the way I paint is to tell you the only rule I remember:
Art,
of any kind, should be 90% looking and 10% painting.
So
90% of me is always trying to look, feel and understand whatever
is around me; then the other 10% goes into some-kind of trance
and tries to record an abstract version of that."
