Yes its a body strung up by chains and ropes - its all mixed up with the conception of 'the body beautiful' and the press attention on stars who have done nothing apart from say they dislike the press and have an eating disorder

This and the two Pen and Inks below will go on to beome Oil paintings, my intention in to create a tryptic which centers on this concept of escape. All of the figures are stuck for one reason or another, in this case because her feet are on the square next to her - not at the bottom of her legs...

The final Pen and Ink showing a figure trapped - not by a physical barrier but by the box/square that cannot be lifted.

This concept was centred around falling, in this case into the hole beneath, the only barrier to that fall being the painful spear and chain. the pain or these devises is contrasted by the serenelook on the figures face and the flower pattern on two sides, reminiscent of an older persons carpet.
